The Boston Celtics certainly won't be remembered for being a high flying act that their Laker counterparts were in the 80's. That does not mean Red didn't understand its effectiveness and the overall advantage of a jumping big man perfectly timed with an incoming pass. When your center is Bill Russell you tend to learn a couple of things about interior passing. Personally, I like watching old ESPN classic games where you will find Russell doing a non-dunking version of the Alley Oop, which was necessary when dunking was banned in the NBA.
